Hydraulic Seals & Gaskets
Hydraulic seals prevent fluid leakage and contamination in hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and valves. Proper seal selection is critical for system performance and longevity.
Types of Hydraulic Seals
Piston Seals: Rod-end seals that prevent hydraulic fluid from passing the piston. Critical for maintaining cylinder pressure.
Rod Seals: Exclude contaminants from entering the cylinder while retaining fluid internally.
Wear Rings: Guide the piston and rod, preventing metal-to-metal contact that causes scoring and leakage.
Wiper Seals: Remove contaminants from the rod before they enter the cylinder bore.
Common Seal Materials
Viton (FKM) for high-temperature applications. Nitrile (NBR) for standard hydraulic fluids. Polyurethane for wear resistance. PTFE for chemical resistance and wide temperature range.
