Hydraulic Fittings & Adapters Guide
Hydraulic fittings connect hoses, tubes, and pipes in hydraulic systems. Choosing the right fitting ensures leak-free connections and system reliability under high pressure.
Types of Hydraulic Fittings
JIC Fittings: 37-degree flare fittings, the most common in North American hydraulic systems. Available in brass, steel, and stainless steel.
ORFS Fittings: O-Ring Face Seal fittings provide superior leak prevention. Increasingly common in modern heavy equipment.
BSPP/BSPT Fittings: British Standard Pipe parallel/taper thread fittings, common in European and Asian hydraulic systems.
Choosing the Right Fitting
Consider operating pressure, fluid type, temperature range, and connection type. Most industrial hydraulic systems operate between 1,000 and 5,000 PSI. Always match fittings to tubing diameter and wall thickness.
